I think you can find good Italian or Italian American food all over the country now. I had an excellent ragout in Alabama last month. And I just ate at a northern Italian called Sandro’s on the Upper East Side a week ago and it was fantastic. Just an in-house made ravioli in a thick cheese sauce - to die for.

My husband is Sicilian-American so I no longer dare to cook Italian at home. I’m lucky that way.

Technically is Sicily, Italy? Corsica? Local opinions may vary.

Not sure what La Maddelena is at all... :)
