Analyst: Trump's G-7 performance was "geopolitical equivalent of the Comey firing"
CBS "News" ^ | June 11, 2018 | By DAVID MORGAN

Posted on 06/11/2018 2:26:11 PM PDT by Oldeconomybuyer

President Trump's break with American allies at the G-7 Summit was the worst foreign policy outing of his presidency, and the worst summit since they started back in 1975, according to Ian Bremmer, president and founder of the Eurasia Group. Bremmer called Mr. Trump's performance "the geopolitical equivalent of the Comey firing."

German Chancellor Angela Merkel said the president's reversal "via tweet" from signing onto the G-7 statement was "sobering and a bit depressing."

On "CBS This Morning" Monday, Bremmer, said, "It was Trump unable to control his emotional impulses in doing something that I am sure felt very satisfying at the time. He was forced to go, he didn't want to attend the summit, his advisors all said, 'You have to be there.' He shows up late, he leaves early, he cancels his direct meeting with [French President] Macron. The entire time he's seething, bristling and petulant, but he's on good behavior. Finally he leaves, and he says, 'That's it, I'm going to blow it up.'"

"I'm sure that sending that [tweet] out against Trudeau, America's closest ally, felt really good at the time," Bremmer said. But the result is, "It really damages an important long-term relationship."

Will the spat do lasting damage to the Western alliance?

"They're not going to form a G-6, they're not unified, they have no ability to get together on other issues – the Europeans, the Japanese, the Canadians. No. But they don't trust America," Bremmer said. "Trump said that the relationship with the allies was a 10. Maybe out of 100? But the reality is, the relationship with the United States is reasonably uncertain right now. The individual relationship with Trump and those allies is as bad as it could be. It's close to a zero."

When you answer to the Almighty, you don’t have to placate to anyone. Thank you Mr. President.

Would you pay this left-winger for analyses?

Bremmer notably failed to foresee the rise of Trump, initially saying the brash reality TV star would not win the Republican nomination, then claiming that Trump was “extremely unlikely” to be elected president as he would never be able to claim enough of the anti-establishment vote that supported Bernie Sanders. In the end, Trump proved him wrong, turning over a series of traditionally Democrat blue collar states where Sanders’ support had been high.

Bremmer has expressed concern over the turmoil the Trump administration and its America First policies could cause.
In a March interview with Inc, Bremmer argued that the “major driver of political risk” in the world was this “new U.S. government—not doing things that historically were done, and doing things that historically were not done.”

It amazes me too. Ian Bremmer is a moron if he believes this. I amazes me how downright stupid the “smart” people really are. President Trump is very good at getting the DC idiots to show their butts.

Trudeau also lost his eyebrow.

What a metro/homosexual!

“... the worst foreign policy outing of his presidency,”

And here I was thinking his performance was excellent — exactly like firing Comey was excellent.

I loved that Kudlow statement. It was also repeated by Peter Navarro, who also added, “(There’s a special place in Hell” for people who mess with Trump. It was GREAT!

(1) I was happy to see Comey fired.

(2) Justin Trudeau completely lost his manhood.

(3) Merkel is not happy that Germany’s free ride is over.

#Winning

Completely agree with all.

Ian Bremmer is just one more political expert who is getting Trump and the American people who support him all wrong.

"... As of December 2014, he is foreign affairs columnist and editor-at-large at Time.[2] In 2013, he was named Professor at New York University.[3] Eurasia Group provides analysis and expertise about how political developments and national security dynamics move markets and shape investment environments across the globe.

And how many of them will be in office in 18 months? The new Italian guy, for sure. The body language suggested Abe is with him. May and Trudeau will be gone by next year. Isn’t Merkel in her last term? Macron probably loves Trump the more for being kicked around by him. And Putin will be thrilled when he gets his seat at the table again!

This tweet?..... Sorry, we cannot let our friends, or enemies, take advantage of us on Trade anymore. We must put the American worker first!

Or this one? ....Germany pays 1% (slowly) of GDP towards NATO, while we pay 4% of a MUCH larger GDP. Does anybody believe that makes sense? We protect Europe (which is good) at great financial loss, and then get unfairly clobbered on Trade. Change is coming!

Maybe this tweet? Meetings between staffs and representatives are going well and quickly....but in the end, that doesn’t matter. We will all know soon whether or not a real deal, unlike those of the past, can happen!" A lot of Fake news about this POTUS out there, CNN leading the way.....

(Kudlow on Trudeau) --- (Trudeau 'stabbed us in back' on trade, says Trump chief economic adviser)

POTUS keeps putting America first in all things I think this is the tweet...."Based on Justin’s false statements at his news conference, and the fact that Canada is charging massive Tariffs to our U.S. farmers, workers and companies, I have instructed our U.S. Reps not to endorse the Communique as we look at Tariffs on automobiles flooding the U.S. Market!"

I think this President is saying loud and clear that America is tired of being the benevolent big brother at his countrymen's expense.

The MSM is of course on Trudeau's side, not their nation's POTUS. Shame!

I did not see the eyebrow incident but I will guess that it was caused by bad glue and an imperceptible nervous tick that faggot Canadians have when attacking superiors.
Trudeau is a little shitface gay-boy that is WAY over his head in political waters. Analyst is just wrong.

The Comey firing was not a bad thing, in and of itself, as James Comey had clearly stayed on beyond his expiration date, and there were even Democrats calling for his termination. Of course, his response to the firing is what really revved up the chain of events that led to the Mueller special counsel assignment, based on an entirely bogus foundation.

Which James Comey helped to create.

Now, let’s see what G-7’s response to the severe cage rattling that President Trump gave them over the weekend is going to turn out to be. Right now they are mostly just spluttering and harrumphing in impotent anger.

Watching Donald Trump tweak the noses of the pompous of the world is FUN.

Painting a target on your head is never “Good”.

“Funny”, and “What are you guys going to do about it?” Yes, “Good” no.

It just shafted a bunch of socialist countries who need to have barriers to US goods and none on their goods entering into the US.

"Bremmer has expressed concern over the turmoil the Trump
administration and its America First policies could cause."

The only turmoil it's causing is with those who have been
gouging America all of these years. They now know that
the gravy train has come to the end of the line. And they
are whining and screaming like the spoiled brats they are.

oh boo hoo. French Canada had their lollies taken away.

Trump even suggested zero tariffs across the board, similar to what the EU offers each other. Did the 6 agree to that? No, they didn’t. Protectionism for me and not for thee. Just take, take, take.

And while these ninnies weren’t looking, Russia is firming up a G6 of their own - Iran, Turkey, Syria, China, Malaysian areas and themselves. If the EU want to go head to head against that on their own in trade or otherwise, have at it. Trump was right to insist Russia participate if for no other reason than to keep our hooks in him, but ‘our’ G6 can’t see 10 minutes past their stuffed shirt noses.
