I don't understand the Jeff Sessions hatefest around here either.

Do I agree with all of Sessions' decisions, statements, and actions? No. That doesn't change the fact that he's still far better than any AG we've had over the past 20+ years, not to mention far better than the alternatives to Sessions (e.g. liberals like Giuliani) that his critics around here would like in his place.

“I don’t understand the Jeff Sessions hatefest around here either.”

Maybe scapegoating Sessions is an indirect way of expressing bitter disappointment over the speed at which Trump is draining the swamp.

If they make everything Jeff Sessions’ fault, they can judge Trump’s presidency a failure, yet still claim to be loyal Trump supporters.

If that’s the explanation, I sympathize, but I think they expected too much in the way of swift and public justice, and vindication for our side.

We may not get to see Democrats being perp-walked in orange jump suits. We may have to settle for the swamp being drained slowly by attrition rather than by machete.

It’s very possible that the POTUS has determined that for the good of Republic, a peaceful draining of the swamp would be preferable to a bloody purge. Banishment from government may be the punishment of choice rather than the gallows.

If that’s what is happening I’m disappointed too - I wanted to see some of them swing - but if this POTUS can actually drain the swamp that’s far more than anyone dreamt possible - I’m not going to quibble about how he does it.
