This is weird. I know I am out of touch with Pop Culture in many ways (I didn't know who Anthony Bourdain was) so I was shocked. And then I saw that thread on FR about that very nice looking young girl who thought she was too "plain and boring" so she did a bunch of tattoos and piercings, tattooed the whites of her eyes blue, and had her tongue completely sliced in half to make it forked.
It nearly made me nauseous to see. Such a sweet looking young woman, and she did THAT to her.
It made me angry. I know there are a lot of plain or unattractive people who simply take the hand they were dealt with and deal with it, and to see this very attractive woman do this to herself made me think of the guy who took a hammer to Michalangelo's Pieta.
God gifts some people with attractiveness, and for them to destroy it deliberately is...just...wrong.

I know what you’re saying in terms of the young lady’s pretty picture, but I wouldn’t be surprised if “attractiveness” is merely incidental to God’s gift of life.
That was considered sinful back when I was a Catholic, maybe still is. It’s defiling of the body, which is the temple of the Holy Spirit.
