Rick Scott appears to support Curbelo's immigration plan, but how would he vote?
Miami Herald ^ | June 08, 2018 | Alex Daugherty and Steve Bousquet

Gov. Rick Scott appears to be on board with Rep. Carlos Curbelo's plan to bypass House Speaker Paul Ryan to force a slew of immigration votes, putting the Republican running for Bill Nelson's U.S. Senate seat in line with Democrats and a small group of moderate Republicans.

But while Scott offered support for Curbelo's idea to force action, it isn't clear what types of immigration policies he would champion in the U.S. Senate if elected.

"We need to secure our borders and help these kids. Congress needs to get DACA legislation done. Thanks Congressman Curbelo for fighting for this," Scott tweeted on Thursday night.

Scott's campaign confirmed that he supports the Miami Republican's effort to force votes in Congress but did not offer an endorsement for specific immigration-related bills.

Scott has said in the past that he doesn't support deporting 1.8 million immigrants who came to the United States illegally as young children, a position that most Republicans and President Donald Trump share.

Scott has also demanded that Congress pass legislation that protects the young immigrants from deportation while securing the border, a wide-ranging policy position that could include a bill promoted by Donald Trump that failed to garner 40 votes in the U.S. Senate earlier this year and a bipartisan proposal called the USA Act that provides a pathway to citizenship for the young immigrants while also providing funding for a "smart wall" at the U.S.-Mexico border.

Unbelievable. So now Gov. Rick Scott in Florida, fantasizing about becoming the junior Senator to Marco Rubio, is following in Rubio's footsteps of blowing sweet kisses to the conservative base early in his career then turning around to back stab the base by backing amnesty just like Rubio did with the Gang of 8 pro-amnesty and pro-h1b immigration bill in 2013. Scott has officially gone full-on RINO and full-on retard with this that he's even stupid enough to Tweet out his support for the DACA amnesty that Curbelo and RINOs-in-chief Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell are supporting with the discharge petition. https://twitter.com/ScottforFlorida/status/1004868357202604032

Ryan wants to ram the amnesty through the House, McConnell wants to keep the Senate open during recess to make sure the amnesty gets through the Senate.

And Scott is imitating the RINO treasonous pro-amnesty Senators like Rubio, Dean Heller, Lindsey Graham, Lamar Alexander, Bob Hoeven, Roger Wicker, John McCain, Lisa Murkowski and Susan Collins who tried to ram through amnesty in 2013. There is now no difference in Scott's stance from Bill Nelson's, both make noises about beefing up the border security while both push for a mass DACA amnesty of 2 million illegal aliens with chain migration and further amnesties making sure that number balloons up to 5 million and then 10 million new illegals amnestied shortly thereafter. Wages in the US would collapse while Texas, Arizona, Colorado, the Carolinas and Florida, already teetering on a massive demographic shift as it is from previous amnesties, would join California and Virginia in becoming former Red States turned into permanent Blue States thanks to mass immigration.

And thus the USA becomes a one-party state of massive corruption, like Venezuela, with millions of new Democrat voters imported thanks to RINO GOP backstabbers like Rick Scott, Marco Rubio and Lindsey Grahamnesty, surrendering completely to the cheap labor mania of the plutocrat traitors like the Chamber of Commerce, Mark Zuckerberg, the Koch Brothers, Sheldon Adelson and the rest of the anti-Constitution treason lobby. Grahamnesty probably has the excuse that he's constantly being blackmailed by compromising pictures of his closeted activities. Or maybe he really is just a treasonous jerk. Who knows. But Rubio and Scott are supposedly more independent, at least they like to pretend they are, and yet they too lick the boots of the cheap labor lobby.

Does Rick Scott not realize that he has now officially joined the treason lobby with Lindsey Graham, Dean Heller, Marco Rubio and Roger Wicker? What is the point of even voting for him if he, like Curbelo, has now joined the side of the Democrats in backing amnesty?

This is the problem with having a nearly uncontested primary, the RINO's like Rick Scott fail to realize that we, the people, are their boss. My company does a lot of business in Florida along with South Carolina and none of us can figure out what these weird vapors are in conservative states like these, or like Tennessee in the case of Lamar Alexander, that makes these idiots support something so stupid like amnesty or the h1b visa.

One possible solution, Florida still has a Senate primary in August. Scott got stupid because he thought he was running unopposed, but there's still an option for a real conservative and supporter of the the US Constitution and rule of law to toss a hat in the ring. As much money as Scott likes to waste on his campaigns, a Republican simply can't get elected anymore by backing amnesty or the h1b visa. That along with opposing gun rights is a candidacy killer for any Republican no matter how much resources they have, a fatal error on Scott's part.

Does anyone with roots in Florida, or watching the political scene closely there know any conservative we can convince to get into the race? Even if he or she couldn't win, the challenge would force a reality check on Rick Scott that Florida voters will not support amnesty. And there's a good chance the challenger could win indeed with Scott taking this stupid politically suicidal stance on the DACA amnesty. It might in fact turn out to be one of the easiest primary challenges ever, once the base comes to see Scott's pro-amnesty stance, he's finished. He's slit his own political throat.

And just a reminder on the topic: Let's start preparing now, years early, to get rid of the other pro-amnesty pro-h1b RINO's esp. in the Senate like Lamar Alexander (up for re-election in 2020) and of course Lindsey Graham and Marco Rubio. Even though it's years early, the time is now to rally behind a single pro-Constitution conservative to Cantorize them in the primaries. We should also be moving to change the party rules to make South Carolina in particular a closed primary, Graham's been able to hang on only because they idiotically use an open primary there with Democrats supporting Grahamnesty, just like Thad Cochran did against Chris McDaniel in Mississippi. This should be a major push for conservatives. But either way, open or closed primary, it's important to organize now to throw our support behind a single conservative warrior and not split the vote to bring down these RINO's in their primaries.

Good post. Scott is a RINO through and through. He sticks his finger in the air to decide what the safest political position is FOR HIM, every time.

This guy is less than worthless. I am still on fence whether I vote this fall. He’s cruising to be Florida’s McCain. Except worse on gun control.

I’m fairly certain I won’t vote for him either. He’s a slimy chameleon.

Yeah exactly, Rick Soctt is like a carbon copy of Marco Rubio and Lindsey Grahamnesty. No principles, no sense of conservatism or the needs of the people of Florida, no sense of duty to the Constitution. Just spineless wishy-washiness and naked political opportunism, esp. when big donors like the CoC and Mark Zuckerberg are there to bribe them on behalf of the cheap labor lobby.

Good point, Rick Scott is back stabbing on both of those defining issues. Whatever their compromises elsewhere, no official can call themselves a conservative if they back stab on immigration or on the 2nd Amendment. And Scott has gone full traitor on both.

Florida seems to produce too many of them. That jerk Rep. Curbelo trying to ram through this corrupt, unconstitutional “discharge petition” is also a Florida RINO. PAul Ryan could easily shut it down by recessing on the discharge-petition days and cutting off Curbelo and the other pro-amnesty RINO’s at the knees, throwing support behind their primary challengers. But then again, he’s Paul Ryan, the RINO’s best buddy. So fat chance of that.

People in FL hardly ever select good nominees; so whoever wins is a disaster.

That’s understandable, tho I wonder if RINO’s like him are even good for that. Trump for obvious reasons is working hard to replace the traitor federal judges and SCOTUS justices who keep blocking his travel ban and moves to enforce the law against illegals. With Rick Scott now coming out openly in favor of amnesty, could he really be trusted to support a Trump judicial nominee who would back Trump’s executive powers in enforcing immigration law and supporting the travel ban? I doubt it.

Seems a better alternative is to make a late push to support a conservative challenger. if for not other reason, Scott’s now probably dead in the water. News travels fast in the Twittering age and especially since Scott was stupid enough to go on Twitter and Tweet out his open support of amnesty, the whole base is now going to become aware of his betrayal in short order. He’s finished as a candidate. Better to find a replacement sooner rather than later. Even many Democrats in Florida hate the DACA amnesty, they know it’s a load of bull and Scott has totally shot himself in the foot.

Yeah, FL and SC with Grahamnesty, despite their conservative heritage and history. I just don’t get how they come up with these RINO turkeys on the GOP ticket.

Yeah that’s right I think he did. Just like Kalamata’s been saying, Scott has no conservative principles or backbone, he just sticks his thumb up in the wind goes with whatever he things the politically correct winds are blowing toward.

WTF is wrong with Florida? Little Yebbie, the guy with the orange skin who flip flopped back and forth between being a RAT and a RINOP (Charlie somebody), The Cabana Boy, and now this a$$hole!
You’d think Florida was California!

“That’s understandable, tho I wonder if RINO’s like him are even good for that.”

RINOS aren’t good for much of anything, but if Scott’s election helps keep the Senate “in Republican hands,” I suppose it’s worth it, because as much as they want Trump gone, they most likely would not impeach him.
