How is it possible for the Senate to speak on a position that has no nominee? If Sessions is fired or resigns President will nominate a replacement. Then the Senate can do its thing whatever that might be. Nothing is cut in stone. Until the Senate confirms or denies a replacement, there would be an ‘acting’ Attorney General.

If you’d been paying attention you’d already know the answer to this question.

Would you please get it through your head that Trump is not going to fire Sessions. If he was, he would have fired him by now. The senate has made it clear, they are not going to confirm anyone if Trump fires Sessions. It is not worth it politically to Trump to fire Sessions - Trump would kill his presidency with it. It would be nonstop coverage 24/7 of Trump obstructed justice, more Russian collusion and then even more Russian collusion. The House would definitely flip and Trump would be impeached which would completely bring an end to Trump’s presidency in effect. Trump could not win reelection as an impeached president and thus ended our experiment. It isn’t worth it, so please get over it.
