Politics aside, I always enjoyed his books and found him entertaining. Leaves behind an 11 year old daughter. That’s what I find unforgiveable.
Generally speaking, so did I.
One bit of wisdom I did gather from him was his admonition to never eat at buffet, and never eat at restaurant on a Monday or Tuesday. The buffet and the early days in the week are where restaurants unload spoiling and "iffy" and out-of-date food. Good advice from the late Tony B.
Agree in FULL! Ms Spade left behind a 13yo daughter and my comment on a different site was that a child at that age almost always blames themselves for their parents suicide. It will require a LOT of support from the remaining family, friends and professionals to handle that undeserved 'guilt'!
You just know that there will be a 'retrospective' and/or 'tribute' show(s) on Mr Bourdain in the coming weeks/months. Failure of these shows to mention the suicide ending would be a public disservice. Suicide is a SIN against the survivors and needs to make clear why it is not an acceptable ending!
Leaving behind an 11 yr old daughter is an unforgivable sin. Her life is forever broken by his selfishness.
He left behind a kid?
Wow. Not good.
