CNN said he had hung himself.

I've been stuck in the airport listening to their dreck and didn't hear that. I did hear that he was a "household name", but I had never heard of him.

Well, I’ve been right here, and I haven’t heard anything CNN said. (In fact, I probably wouldn’t, either, unless stuck in an airport like you.)

But if they are reporting that, then it would seem he really did commit suicide. I’ve just watched too many episodes of Forensic Files, and it seems when they are too quick to say suicide, it’s often a coverup for overdose or even murder.
