Laz, I understand what you're saying, but isn't that a little bit like saying, "Hey, we shouldn't celebrate the deaths of the guards of the death camps or the soldiers who pushed the doomed into the railway cars; save it for the big players ..."
I'm of the opinion that the deaths of our "foot soldier enemies" who would love to inflict the same on us is as vital to our survival as that for the "big players".
No, it's not a little bit like saying that. It's EXACTLY like saying that. I suggest that those guards or soldiers were redeemable men, though they succumbed to evil. The Blood of Christ washes even the worst men like Hitler or Stalin, if accepted. Certainly the men of lesser evil could be redeemed by Christ.
However, that is as may be. The important thing on this thread is who WE are, as Free Republic. We have a longstanding tradition of not celebrating on obituary threads, save for the worst of the worst. We are not DU. We don't say "f***" a lot nor do we celebrate on obituary threads.
