In life I found him to be swine but I will not celebrate anyone’s passing and certainly not by suicide.

I did not like this guy at all, but I don’t think he killed himself.

Kate Spade was separated from her husband of over 20 years and was being treated for severe depression and anxiety.

As for Bourdain, I’ll not be a hypocrite. I’m shedding no tears because he was a contemptible slug who stated that he would happily poison Trump if given the opportunity.

I do feel for his daughter, though. But that’s far as my sympathy goes.

I’m too busy mourning my friend who was found dead yesterday by her husband. She was a much better person than Bourdain.

The Left believes that they are superior to the rest of us in heart, mind and soul. Along with rewriting history. (the Civil War is just scratching the surface) They believe that they should decide what the new world order looks like. Whether it is a manufactured crisis such as “global warming”, calling anyone who disagrees with them racists or worse, or completely forgetting about the 100 million of their own people that Communist regimes have murdered... they believe that they are the rightful arbiters of the past and the future. Yet they have no answers, and so many of them end up killing themselves. That alone should be a warning to those who want to follow those on the Left and their way of thinking.

The abuse of alcohol + drugs (including and especially mind-altering psychiatric ‘medications’) is largely responsible for the violent acting out in today’s society.

We know that Bourdain drank and smoked - I am awaiting confirmation of my suspicion that he might have been taking “anti-depressants”.

I’ll repeat what I’ve thought for many years, based on real-life case-studies that I have observed:

Any psychiatrist who has prescribed mind-altering ‘medications’ is guilty of malpractice per se.

Because they have no clue as to how these drugs work, or how they will affect an individual (great variability there).

Plus the laundry list of acknowledged side-effects. And the un-acknowledged side effects of destroying a person’s personality, often numbing them into a zombie or dream-like state of existence in which, in a small but significant number of cases, the person loses the ability to distinguish reality from fantasy and commits acts of violence against others - or oneself - that he would have NEVER committed had he never started the psychiatric drugs in the first place.

I realize I’ve gone a bit far afield here (we have no idea if this gentleman was prescribed any of this stuff) but when I saw the news it was the first thing to cross my mind ...

Where and when did I “dance on [Bourdain’s] grave? Or anyone else for that matter?

From just about everything I’ve read on this thread Bourdain was criticized for using his cuisine show as a platform to advocate his ideology. Some of the denser posters here conflated criticism of his political views and public advocacy with a celebration of the man’s death.

Sometimes people use media to represent themselves for more than who they are. The courts identify such people as “public figures”. We don’t know them personally but for what they represent themselves as.

When you represent yourself as a supporter of a reprehensible and wholly un-redeeming ideology you are bound to suffer some collateral damage in the thoughts and prayers of decent people.

"Oh, gee... that’s so sad... sniff. He had so much left to give to the world of, um, cooking or something. Cue the violins. Actually, I couldn’t give a flying fox if some CNN anti-Trump asshole offed himself. I would be even more delighted if the rest of the anti-American worms at CNN followed suit. Who knows? It might even start a trend among the left." - Pravious

First two pages of this thread.

See post# 427 as a wonderful example as well.

Prayers for a misguided soul. Awful that he would abandon his daughter like that.

He was lighter when he was smoking and drinking and less political, back in the early days. Becoming famous, becoming political, hanging with Obama, quitting smoking seemed to make him miserable.

Yeah. Isn’t this the guy who, when asked what he would serve DJT for dinner replied “hemlock”? Good riddance. A disgusting individual and his loss is addition by subtraction.

I did not like this guy at all, but I don’t think he killed himself. So . . . do you think it was some sort of autoerotic procedure gone wrong? Or murder?

A recent news item reports that suicide rates are up by a third in the last twenty years, especially among those aged 45 to 64.

It's the antidepressants. But if you even bring that up, you are shouted down as "anti-science" or a conspiracy theorist. Or whatever.

Wow, interesting. I saw a picture of her in the city with the fellow she was “cheating” with and a little speculation on Twitter, but it seemed unlikely. ..maybe it was just the proverbial straw..

Picture at link.

It’s tragic. Still, it’s curious that just days after Argento being photographed embracing another man in the streets of Rome, Bourdain decided to take his own life — when just a week ago, he was seemingly happy and in love with Argento during a trip to Florence. So who’s the dude Argento was with? Hugo Clement is a hot, tattooed 28-year-old French journalist for Konbini news agency

“Forget it, bub. Your creativity is gone, you don’t have the speed, and your taste buds are shot.”

That is an AWFUL thing to say to anyone. You can learn and be great at almost any age if you have the passion, hard work and willingness to learn. Chase your dreams!
