I no longer partake of anything stronger than the occasional medium pepper blended into a salsa etc. age and current conditions prohibit it.
I also don’t miss that. I do miss other things my body can’t handle a lot more. The list is too long to name.

I consider active discrimination against goods made in Communist China, where possible and practical, to be simply prudent. Even more, to observe where possible and practical a hierarchy discriminating where goods and services should be preferably acquired.

This radiates outward, but once past national boundaries it involves making judgments of country vs country.

For example: Taiwanese goods are just based on proper prejudice against communism FAR more preferable than similar goods that are ChiCom. At issue isn’t “Chinese” but “communist”. Just don’t expect any pin head SJW to understand that discrimination for certain causes can in fact be good, well, not against fellow travelers of their lot ... they are hip with going after Christians and capitalists.

SJWs aside, sadly our business community seems to think that they can make more money in the short term by going out of business and moving production to elsewhere. It has been behaving this way with increasing intensity since the late 70s, not coincidentally with the rise of globalism.

I would argue China has grown strong because Nixon somehow thought saving one drowning man (China) that had been clinging to and helping to haul down another (USSR) might somehow lead to the one drowning faster ... rather than them drowning faster together.

... but I’m getting preachy....

Nope, just only allow money transfers by people who can demonstrate they are in the country legally.

But how about assessing wealth held by illegal aliens and taking a third when they are deported?

Let government make money off of deportations, maybe coinciding with completely shutting off the civil asset forfeiture spigot they enjoy now, and watch the illegal aliens fly out of here.

We have a huge amount of leverage with Mexico when it comes to trade. Trump should retaliate with an extremely aggressive move that forces them to accept the original tariffs or see their entire economy collapse.

Trump has no choice but to leave NAFTA because Canada and Mexico have refused to make any concessions during these negotiations. They need to be told they can either immediately drop the tariffs they imposed on us recently, and start negotiating in good faith, or we will immediately leave NAFTA and impose additional tariffs on them.

We can destroy them in a trade war even if it hurts us some temporarily. We will come out of it in a lot better shape, and it doesn't look like we have any choice since these countries refuse to work with us.

Bad idea if we let them get away with it.

Don't worry.. this is going to be over before it gets started.

The U.S. has NOTHING to LOSE.

Mexico on the other hand CANNOT AFFORD to even play this game.

“We will come out of it in a lot better shape, and it doesn’t look like we have any choice since these countries refuse to work with us.”

We will get a better deal, if we force them to.

Which is why they (and so many others) will have to be forced - the deals they have now are giveaways. It will be like pulling teeth to get it done, but it needs to be done.
