California primary election: live results
The Hill ^ | 06/05/18 | The Hill staff

Posted on 06/05/2018 8:30:15 PM PDT by yesthatjallen

Voters on Tuesday head to the polls for California's pivotal primary, which could help determine whether Democrats will gain control of the House in the November midterms.

The Golden State is home to 10 of the most competitive House races in the nation, virtually all currently held by Republicans. The state is a key to the Democratic Party’s plan to net the 23 seats it needs to flip the House majority in November.

But uncertainty abounds thanks to the state's "jungle primary" system, where the top two vote-getters advance to the general election regardless of party affiliation.

The unusual dynamic threatens to keep the Democrats shut out of key House battles, eliminating any chance of competing in top races. It could also keep Republicans off the ballot in the governor’s race, an outcome that could deal a blow to GOP turnout in November.

The polls close at 11 p.m. EDT. Follow below as The Hill provide live updates and analysis throughout the day.

California Primaries

I was listening to the radio.

There are claims names were left of the voting registration rolls.

They're said to be passing out 'provisional ballots'.

This is exactly what I keep harping about regarding 'same day registration and same day voting'.

It's meant to throw the results into chaos.

If Democrats lose they will claim provisional ballots weren't counted and the election results invalid.

The term Jungle Primary seems to be hateful, racist, pro-primate, and tribal. I’ve been triggered....I think.... Someone should be fired!

Like box Cox and Allen. Went with Cos simply because he was running in second place and it is imparitive we have a Republican choice in November.

Newsome is so scandalous, and so far left, I don’t think he is no longer a shoo in in November. I think less liberal counties that have gone Democrat in recent years won’t got for Newsome (i.e. San Bernardino, Riverside, Orange, San Diego, Ventura, San Luis Obispo, Fresno, etc.)

Just like King County in Washington State...the rest of the state has voted, counted, and certified before King County can even say if every ballot has even been returned!

And whatever the margin of victory may be for the Democrat to win somehow, miraculously, that number of ballots suddenly appear somewhere in King County! It’s amazing to see it happen every single time...expecting the same to happen in LA County.

L.A. voter roll glitch ensnares The Fonz

11:10 p.m.

Celebrities — they're just like us. Actor Henry Winkler, most famous for his role as Arthur Fonzarelli in the iconic television show "Happy Days," was among the 118,000 people who were left off the voter rosters in Los Angeles County thanks to a technical error.

Winkler, like others, will be allowed to cast a provisional ballot at the polls, meaning his vote will be counted, but not for a while.

Henry Winkler Twitter: My name was left off the polling registry today on Los Angeles

Same reason I voted for Cox.

The Democrat Party in California is running all Communists for Governor (and other offices)

They're flooding polls with provisional ballots.

If Democrats win there will be no issue. (Just like if Hillary won there would be no claims Trump cheated with the help of Russian).

If Democrats lose they will scream they were left off the rolls.

It's all part of the scam.

Trump needs to get his election integrity commission into high gear.

I had to with Cox. Although I think Travis Allen was saying the right things, he just came across to me as a slick politician. It just sort of gave me the creeps.
