FBI Counterintelligence seems to be the main foot soldiers in the coup attempt, and according to an FBI guy (name escapes me for the moment) who investigated Uranium One, it was FBI CI specifically that covered up the national security aspects of U1, leaving the charges as merely financial.

It should be apparent that nobody in Congress is going to put a noose around anyone in this ongoing mess. Its a bipartisan love-in, with self-preservation as the primary objective. If anyone gets a noose, its going to be from a grand jury or the DOJ.
