Indeed, Reagan may have disagreed with Trump’s method but remember in the 1980s things were very different then they are now. Reagan was always very unpopular with the media but the shear viciousness of today’s lib media (and Liberals in general) was mostly absent.

I think you would agree different times necessitate differing methods.

No, Trump is just as “vicious”. Let’s just say he was willing to insult everyone from the beginning (i.e., long before actually being pres).

Reagan was treated very badly, but they simply could not attack him for anything he said about anything, officially or even casually (no tweeting, which I guarantee Reagan would not do). It was impossible to critique him that way, because he did not engage.

Plus, Reagan dealt with DEM legislature 95% of the time. I hardly count the 2 years Rep got the Senate briefly.

The difference was no one could knock him personally. It was impossible for anything that seemed nasty about him to stick because he didn’t play into it, and he just wasn’t that way.
