Likewise. My nephew (by marriage), married a black girl. Note that this was in the deepest of the deep South (Baton Rouge, LA).
The weekly paper that covers my home parish had a front-page spread about a very large family reunion of one of the oldest French families in the area. Said reunion included both black and white cousins, including photographs on the front page.
