Ye gad. Ellicott City has been flooding since the mid 1800’s. Climate change, my gluteus maximus.

You’d think a town in coastal Maryland would experience the occasional tropical storm, nor’easter or even hurricane but no, it’s unprecedented and just has to be some dire harbinger of Climate Change armageddon. They don’t even see that they’ve created an alternate godless religion but that doesn’t decrease their zealotry.

“Ellicott City has flooded nearly 15 times since its inception in 1772.”

LOL! They expect that anyone reading their drivel has no concept of history. I suppose one day they will be right given our educational system.

Scientists said the July 2016 rainstorm was a once-in-a-thousand-year event.

But on Sunday it happened again

No it didn't. The second one was a 1 in 283 year event. And the one in 1975 was a 1 in 78 year event...

If you build a town in a ravine down by the river this type of stuff happens!

“Unchecked sprawl” and living in areas that flood. This could be any town USA or Bangladesh. These morons use every story and add “climate” to it. They have no idea how foolish they sound.

No, this is not due to climate change. But this town doesn't get your typical floods, as in the water is rising from the river and the fire department is wading through waist high water towing senior citizens and their little yapping dogs in a jon boat. These "floods" are like the big guy, himself, is sitting at the top of the hill with a giant fire hose. The main street is at such a steep grade and a nice little bend half-way down, that, at it's peak, you get what would probably rate as a Class 4 or 5 whitewater run.

This time, they lost the original county courthouse (built in 1840). But how these buildings have lasted this long is somewhat surprising.
