Something I learned years ago while stationed in W Germany. A young German girl would babysit for us and practice her ‘English’ while doing so and teaching us German at the same time. One day she came over and told us that her English teacher had told her she had to stop using us as folk to practice her English on. Seems we were teaching her how to speak ‘American’ and messing up her English syntax and diction.
