Good grief. I was rather sarcastically saying Ill support reparations to people who were *actually slaves*. Thats it. People walking around today with a chip on their shoulder are owed nothing. But, if you find a 180-year-old former slave, maybe well give them something. But, maybe not, since theyve had a long time to make it on their own since the 1860s.
Your point was well made. I was taking the opportunity to remind people that thousands of blacks owned slaves. Those very people who walk around with a chip on their shoulder are descendants of slave owners.
