And I am sure if the time comes that he thinks its required, trump will fire sessions. I surprised he hasn’t yet but that might be the 4d chess thingy.

All of the Democrats and all of the Republicans who spoke up [and it was *many*] sided with Sessions. (I.e.: sided with Sessions when Trump broached the possibility of firing him.) Not a single Republican backed Trump—not even a one member of the House.

People blithely assume that Trump can fire Sessions any time he wants to and the blowback will be survivable. What is the evidence for that position? Grassley very publicly and very stringently vowed that if Trump fires Sessions, he will never, ever get another AG confirmed. How and why is this so hard to understand?

When Nixon fired his AG he wasn’t planning on getting drummed out of office. Believe it or not, the Nixon-hate was not on par with the Trump-hate. Society has degraded considerably since Nixon. To cite just one example, nobody spoke in sexual terms about Nixon’s daughters. Baron is younger than they were, and Leftists have publicly said unspeakably horrible, graphic things about him sexually.

The cavalier idea that Trump can act independently of a DC swamp that hates him and suffer no dire, possibly career-ending consequences is simply not circumspect. The swamp hates Trump, and is only lying in wait for him to make a Nixonian mistake—and then it will pounce.
