Special counsel Robert Mueller's team has told a court he is ready to move ahead with the sentencing of former Trump campaign foreign policy adviser George Papadopoulos.
The parties respectfully request that the Court refer this case for the preparation of a pre-sentence investigation report, the filing from Mueller's team reads.
A pre-sentence report is used to help a judge prepare for a possible sentence, providing information on the individual's criminal history, cooperation with authorities, as well as other details that will aid the judge's decision.
The latest development suggests Mueller's team is looking to kickstart the sentencing process.
Papadopoulos pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI last year and has cooperated with Mueller's team, according to court filings cited by ABC News.
He has also been free on bond since pleading guilty.

Mule ear is a VERY dirty cop, an enemy of We the People.
He shouldn’t have been a stupid drunk.
However, Papa might be able to claim entrapment on appeal or even at any sentencing hearing based on what we now know about his meeting with the Australian diplomat and now I’ve heard, a precursor blond honeytrap.
No one lies about the date that they met with someone. They might lie about having the meeting altogether but lying about the date is pointless. And its so easy to confirm or refute too.
If Mifsud and Halper were operating as FBI plants, and this was not disclosed to the defense, I think there’s grounds for tossing the whole case.
I would agree, but is that not what they got Admiral Flynn on?
Supposedly Flynn stated that he did not discuss sanctions with the aRussian ambassador but the recording revealed that he did. But its the same thing really. Why would he lie about that?
Maybe because he was called while on vacation? Maybe he was having drinks? Maybe he didnt recall the details of the conversation?
I see those kinds of interviews as a gotcha kind of thing Flynn Probably hadnt given that phone call much thought in the time interval That had passed, and the interviewers likely had a transcript and knew exactly what they wanted to do.
