Full title: HUGE!! IG Has NO POWER TO SUBPOENA Former Obama Employees Thats Why Rosenstein Asked Him to Investigate Spying on Trump
On Sunday evening, Justice Department Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein asked Inspector General Horowitz to investigate whether there was impropriety or political motivation into the FBIs infiltration of Trumps campaign.
This came just hours after President Trump demanded a review of whether Obamas Deep State FBI did indeed spy on his campaign.
I hereby demand, and will do so officially tomorrow, that the Department of Justice look into whether or not the FBI/DOJ infiltrated or surveilled the Trump Campaign for Political Purposes and if any such demands or requests were made by people within the Obama Administration!

“Yeah, figure there is something im missing since Pence and Trump seem to be ok w it.”
So, you know that for sure, or are you just guessing? I find it so interesting when people who aren’t in the administration know everything that’s going on and what the president is thinking.
Some sanity, thank you!
I was scrolling through the thread thinking, wait a minute guys...guys...that’s why he’s working with a couple of federal prosecutors...guys? :)
Exactly ;-)
Anyone who thinks Donald Trump, Dan Coats and John Kelly were deceived by this is naive.
Just because the IG is looking at this does not mean that a US Attorney is not also looking. That part would not be made public.
No IG reference, just “make recommendations”.
Let’s review what Huber is actually doing:
...Sessions referenced a November 2017 letter sent by Assistant Attorney General Stephen Boyd, first reported by Fox News, directing senior federal prosecutors to evaluate certain issues requested by congressional Republicans, involving the sale of Uranium One and alleged unlawful dealings related to the Clinton Foundation.
On Nov. 13, 2017, Boyd wrote: These senior prosecutors will report directly to the Attorney General and the Deputy Attorney General [Rod Rosenstein], as appropriate, and will make recommendations as to whether any matters not currently under investigation should be opened, whether any matters currently under investigation require further resources, or whether any matters merit the appointment of a Special Counsel.
Sessions revealed Thursday in the letter to top Republican lawmakers in both chambers of Congress that Huber was the senior federal prosecutor leading that effort...
When criminal activity IS found by the IG, THEN he refers to ACTUAL law enforcement officials who DO have broad subpoena power, as was the case with the criminal referral of McCabe.
And I fully expect thats what were going to see with the upcoming release of the Clinton report, as well as several others that Horowitz still has in the works. People here forget that Horowitz announced several months ago that there were going to multiple reports, each one dealing with an different issue.
You are dreaming. There will be no criminal prosecutions of Obama admin officials by Trump because the GOP won’t support it. It’s that simple.
Mueller had guilty pleas in months. OTOH, Rosenstein is running out the clock and Trump isn’t firing him. That should be your clue right there. Trump knows this is a political battle only and he is fighting accordingly.
Dammit, GET RID of these ANIMALS
You make a good point.
We already know the IG is outside the “Main Justice” cabal. He can’t subpoena non employees but he can and is referring to those who can.
Other than the IG, the whole DC justice main office is corrupt — there are very few not interlocked with corruption. And I don’t mean Democrats — corruption there is Republican and Democrat.
The Dems plus RINOs, backed by the media and swamp employees. An "R" by the name guarantees absolutely nothing.
Your Sessions schtick is getting old.
Huber does.
>>But the IG is Hubers basis for prosecution. Hard for him to prosecute at this point what the IG cant investigate.<<
Horowitz refers any criminal acts he uncovers to Huber for further investigation and potential prosecution. Nothing stops Huber from going outside the DOJ/FBI to pursue his own investigations.
If Horowitz finds something criminal in his internal investigation, Huber can take it out as far as necessary. Those who’ve left the agency, or were never a part of it, are not beyond his reach.
At least that’s my understanding of it. Most of this is just bitching by people who (with reason) want to see justice done sooner rather than later.
As for Sessions, Trump could easily fire him at any time with limited repercussions. People in here who think Trump is a genius but detest Sessions should ask themselves why he hasn’t already been fired if they’re so sure they’ve figured Sessions out.
Dan Coats agrees with the preposterous Crowdstrike-and-Brenner-inspired “Russia assessment.” Trump does not accept it but if he tells the truth he will be shouted down by his own “intelligence” appointees.
Exactly! So, then, Obama, Brennan, Clapper, McCabe, Yates, Clinton, Lynch et al, are untouchable.
“But some Freepers insist Sessions is playing 256-D chess “
No, but there are some of us who trust Trump to decide how he wants to handle this whole fake Russia collusion PR attack. He’s a big boy - he can decide who to fire, and when, without all this constant second guessing and badgering from his supposed supporters. Just let him handle it - he knows a million things we don’t know and he’s a forceful and resourceful guy when he needs to be.
And there are some of us who trust Trump to decide how and when to bring former Obama officials and other criminals to justice. There are nuances regarding the law vs. politics, and the importance of public perception. Trump knows so much that we don’t, and he’s no snowflake. Just let him do this his way on his own timetable. Let him puzzle out the best course of action and don’t pick arbitrary benchmarks and then assume he’s not doing anything when they’re not met.
And some of us trust Trump to pick his own team - and if he’s truly unhappy with someone like Jeff Sessions, then he’ll deal with it as best he can.
Trump is doing a fine job from what I can see - but unlike Obama, whose natural habitat was the DC swamp, and who the MSM fawned over, Trump and his team are not in friendly territory.
They can’t be held to the same standards regarding how fast things get done and make the evening news. If you are expecting to see a certain number of firings, indictments or people in jail by a certain date - where are you getting those benchmarks? How do you know they are right?
Speaking just for myself, I’d say it’s not about trusting Sessions or thinking Sessions is capable of 256D chess, it’s about trusting Trump and feeling good about how he’s doing on so many fronts. It’s about assuming there’s a lot I don’t know and respecting the complexity of the tangled mess he walked into - the nightmarish challenge of battling a century of corruption.
Bottom line, I think Trump and his team are more in the driver’s seat than it appears - and that the deep state is less in control than it appears. That’s my gut feeling just from looking at at the POTUS on one hand, who seems in good spirits, strong, outspoken, the same guy we elected. And on the other hand the Left - which seems increasingly desperate, disorganized and in panic mode.
With that more optimistic view, I guess I just don’t see Mueller or Rosenstien as being all that formidable - pains in the ass? Yes. Out to get Trump? Yes. But I don’t think they were ever a real threat - Trump had to let himself get investigated/cleared - otherwise “obstruction!”.
Quite frankly, the Left seems to be blowing it big league. They embarrass themselves on a daily basis by taking ridiculous stands that put them at odds with the American people. And it’s showing in the polls. It reminds me of Hillary Clinton’s weird behavior in the final months of her campaign.
I think that’s Trump’s doing - he’s overwhelming the enemy - death of a thousand cuts. Every morning a few hundred deep state bureaucrats arrive at work and find their swamp habitat a little less swampy. Every morning another couple hundred crooked lobbyists arrive on K street and can’t find who they were supposed to bribe that day. Every morning another a-hole like Chuckie Schumer, Nancy Pelosi or a RINO Ryan gets some more political bad news.
It’s happening folks, Trump is winning.
>>Exactly what Chaffetz said on Hannity last night but it was hard to tell with Hannitys interruptions. Now I know why I gave up watching him for 6 months. He is infuriating.<<
My sentiments exactly. Last night he cut someone off just as they were wrapping up a key point.
And Ingraham has the same tendency to motormouth when a guest is present, but at least she doesn’t trample all over their responses once she finally lets them start speaking.
“Dan Coats agrees with the preposterous Crowdstrike-and-Brenner-inspired Russia assessment.
Source?
That would be interesting...
Rosenstein is essentially out of power on this, and will have to meet and fully collaborate with DNI Director Coats, Nunes, WH COS, and Director Wray. So, effectively, Trump didn't fire anybody; he just gave them new bosses. Lovin’ it!
And I thought the month of April was supposed to be a massacre. It came and went out like a lamb.
Then if 2018 elections happen and we end up winning more seats, it will be interesting if the swamp creatures on the right will make an excuse for not building the wall until AFTER 2020 for fear we might piss off the people to get Trump re-elected. We’ve seen this game before and know the outcome.
