From the article:

“As the letter from conservative leaders to Jim Jordan pointed out, “The present House Republican leadership has proven that it’s part of “the Swamp.” Consequently, a vote to promote any member of today’s House GOP leadership is a vote for the Swamp. It’s time to Clean House.”

But more to the point about who should be the next Speaker, what about those House Republicans who are in tight races and will be forced to make the choice between the pro-amnesty, open borders Kevin McCarthy and the former Chairman of the House Freedom Caucus, fight to build the Wall now, defund Planned Parenthood no questions asked Jim Jordan?”

Jim Jordan should announce this and then go on a media blitz tour

I never did understand why Ryan didn’t resign his Speakership when he announced his Retirement from the House. Once he came out with that announcement, he became a Lame Duck and should have stepped aside to let someone else take over.

Paul Ryan was “installed” in the first place, just like Pope Francis.

Exactly, he was asked to be the caretaker by the swamp people.

Jim Jordan is a very smart man. I suspect he’s lining up votes before he announces. He needs to win a majority of Republicans to represent the republicans, but the real danger is the 25 amnesty Rinos voting for the democrat for Speaker.

Would they actually go that far?

I’m not sure. Got any ideas on that one?

I agree. It’s really surprising. I would have expected him to campaign for McCarthy.

Is it chess? Does he actually oppose McCarthy or is he on McCarthy’s side but doesn’t want to injure him by showing McCarthy is dependent on him?

Supposedly, he was the only compromise candidate after Boehner.

Somewhat off topic, but unless and until the Republican leadership (party bosses) are replaced with real Americans, we are never going to have the party it should be.

Rove, et.al., should all be gone.

Make it to Election Day? It would have been nice if he packed his sh*t about 18 months ago, at least?

Will Paul Ryan start missing his family more, his dog, ...will he resign yet earlier???

November’s a long way off, when you miss your dog.

(Or, you fear indictment.)

That would be interesting.

They could kiss their seats goodbye if they did.

I suspect there would be some rioting

McCarthy is no better and Scalise only marginally better. Jim Jordan likely father 218 votes.

Jim Jordan is just outstanding, as far as I am concerned. I suppose I would like to see him speaker but if it comes at the cost of his outspokenness and “maverick” quality (to hijack Dirtbag McCain’s undeserved trademark) I would definitely prefer not.
