Israel proved many years ago that they will not hesitate to fire upon an ally they perceive to be a threat. Who can forget the Israeli attack on the USS Liberty in broad daylight and with the ship flying an American flag?
There has never been a good explaination of that action.
Even this was not until diplomatic appeals to the USA had failed, and after it was clear the Liberty was leaking intelligence to live foes. It wasn’t a blind rage.
By all means have an investigation. Canada won’t want to be associated with the fellow once it’s been investigated.
