RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) - The dress code at Kickback Jacks has some customers a little upset.
The sign is bogus, said customer Zaena Graham. I think its a bunch of rubbish.
The sign posted inside its restaurant lists the dress code and behavior requirements. The list starts off prohibiting negative attitudes, offensive language, and any attire containing profanity.
In a family atmosphere other than just a sports bar, I think profanity should be restricted in any public place, said John Baucom, a customer.
The first part sounded OK, but it just got, to me, more discriminatory, said Laurie Washington, who was eating at the restaurant with her husband, Thomas Washington.
The dress code goes on to say no low-hanging pants or shorts, no plain white T-shirts, and no excessively baggy attire.
Laurie and Thomas Washington believe it has a racial undertone and is offensive to them.
Thats typically, younger African-American type attire, said Laurie Washington.
Baucom said not having the policy could be offensive to others.
The way they wear their pants and exposing certain parts of skin or whatever, I think that should be a managers discretion as far as offensive to other people, he said.

No neck tattoos.
What FOOD is that good?
Find another eatery and have at it. What is their beef with stilettos? A rare parquet wooden floor? The profanity presents a problem as well...ie TRUMP, Deplorables = two examples of what ‘they’ deem profanity?
Is this a restaurant or a liberal hang out? The choice is theirs. A true sense of shame they feel comfortable about who is allowed service when a bakery; a photographer, etc... can be sued for NOT serving a ‘gay duo’. Guy Duos seem to be much higher on that ladder than common, everyday American workers (deplorables).
Has there been any complaints filed against those places that have signs requiring the WEARING OF A NECKTIE or other clothing standards. Some still require Jacket and Necktie and limit the height of extra short skirts.
Do those requirements offend anyone.
I am offended.....I hate wearing a tie.
“no plain white T-shirts”
The 50’s back?
The White T shirt usually is indicative of underwear, ie not completely dressed. There are plenty of offensive tattoos, piercings, earrings also.
I’d love to find a restaurant that served food better than mine. Either they’ve had a lot of problems with the things listed or it’s cheap PR to get more customers. Either way, their name is all over the internet now.
God, I miss Tony Soprano.
I guess I could leave my stiletto behind, but I’m bringing my shotgun with me.
A popping balloon can sound like a gunshot. I was at a resort earlier this year where there was a shooting, and 2 hours later the entertainment staff was popping balloons and guests were diving for cover.
“I didnt know plain white T-shirts were bad - is that a gang thang?”
Plain white T-shirts are undergarments. People should know better than to go to a restaurant in their underwear.
I like it, it’s a start.
Now if the fast food places could get rid of the employees with facial piercings I’d be really happy.
I just don’t like someone with a tongue stud, lip ring(s) and a bone through their nose handing me food. (I know, I’m weird)
Kickback Jack’s isn’t as kickback as the names seems to imply for some people.
Against those that don't want to follow the owner's rules for eating there.
This is just an expanded version of the , "No Shirt-No Shoes-No Service" rule many places have.
Nobody wants to be enjoying a meal with their family with low-lifes walking in with their pants down around their knees and their underwear showing.
Not appetizing at all.
This Washington couple need to take their "offense" somewhere else if they don't approve of the owner's rules.
No Balloon!?
From my cold, yet festive, dead haaaaaands!!!
Meh.
White T-shirts is a bit ridiculous. Like wearing a neon pink one is going to class the place up? Lol!
Regards,
Plain white T-shirts are undershirts.
Unless I am working in the backyard, or in the garage, I don’t like being seen in public in a plain white T.
YMMV
“I just dont like someone with a tongue stud, lip ring(s) and a bone through their nose handing me food.”
I just dont like someone with a tongue stud, lip ring(s) and a bone through their nose living on my planet.
“What is their beef with stilettos?”
Cuts back on the ho’s. Also could be an insurance thing?
Laurie and Thomas Washington believe it has a racial undertone and is offensive to them.
Wearing your pants below your ass is offensive to me.
