Thursday marks the one-year anniversary of the appointment of special counsel Robert S. Mueller III. The milestone has emboldened White House critics of the probe to declare, as Vice President Mike Pence did on NBC News, that "it is time to wrap it up."
Never mind that the Mueller investigation is, comparatively, in its infancy. The Whitewater probe of Bill and Hillary Clinton, for example, began in 1994 and ended more than six years later. Mueller's 12 months of work has turned up more clear wrongdoing than Kenneth Starr ever did: There have been 20 indictments and 5 guilty pleas, including prominent senior members of the campaign and administration, and that doesn't take into account the wealth of information that Mueller has yet to make public.
A successful ouster of Mueller would not derail the investigation at this point. Too much evidence has been gathered, and too many prosecutors, who have surely considered and planned for the contingency, stand ready to carry on.
In the course of the past year, we've learned not to underestimate what Mueller knows and what bombshell he may have prepared. It may involve the Russians and the campaign, it may involve obstruction of justice, but there are other relevant threads.
The "wrap it up" crowd is indulging in wishful thinking. The first anniversary of the Mueller investigation is unlikely to be the last.

Well, there you have it, friendlies. Become impeccable. They want nothing. Show them nothing. Get in shape.
So far, the only direct collusion found to Russia is Mueller’s FBI colluding with a Russian Oligarch. But I guess that’s not the collusion they’re hoping for.
I concur. This will not stop until it is stopped. By whom?
Has Harry Litman ever had any connections, or other associations of any kind, with the pedophile industry or with any individual or group affiliated with the pedophile industry?
If only the Mamas and Papas knew what their dream would become.....would have had a future song called "California Nightmare" on tap for future use...
Does the jerk seem to understand that all the guilty pleas were literally due to blackmail and threats and intimidation, that 1 of the 20 indictments was for a company that didn’t exist during the alleged crimes, and that 13 of the indictments are of Russian citizens, so trials will NEVER happen, and all the rest of the indictments will start being thrown out, refuse to go to trial or get plea deals.
Flynn would never have plead guilty if he hadn’t been bankrupted, had his child threatened with jail time whether he did anything or not, just so he would plead out.
Manafort is countering with charges that Mueller is illegally pursuing charges.
The rest will quietly disappear. He doesn’t WANT a trial unless he can get Trump.
well... funny how this all turned out...
