Exactly.

Someone here on FR once put it in easy-to-understand terms.

"Speech" = Spoken words

"Press" = Written words

Had nothing to do with organized news outlets having some sort of special, super-duper extra Constitutional Rights

What an excellent way to describe who the press are today. The synchronized talking points, the left wing advocacy, the attacks on the president daily.
