They are not necessarily an option. Some cars come with keyless ignition on all trim levels. Others on upper trim levels. Pretty soon all vehicles will be keyless. It's just the way this feature is trending.
It’s like anything else, it takes a while to get used to, but eventually everyone does. I remember when we all had get up, and turn a knob to change TV channels. Now, with remote controls, it’s hard to believe we had to do it the old fashioned way.
