When I do spiteful things to anyone I get a pang of conscience that tells me I am wrong and ignoring the Holy Spirit - it's part of the whole deal about asking Jesus to be my Lord and Savior and asking the Holy Spirit to reside within my "heart". If it makes me feel "dirty/stained" I can bet that it isn't in God's Will for me to do it --- I have enough daily transgressions that adding something so obviously wrong seems a bit much...do what you will, I'll pray he has a change of heart and doesn't remain spiteful until the bitter end and that he finds Eternity in Heaven as one of God's children.
>>I guess there is no scripture that specifically says it but ask Jonah what happens when we decide not to try to open the gates of Heaven for those we detest/consider unworthy...
When I do spiteful things to anyone I get a pang of conscience that tells me I am wrong and ignoring the Holy Spirit - it’s part of the whole deal about asking Jesus to be my Lord and Savior and asking the Holy Spirit to reside within my “heart”. I hope he does too. I’m just hoping that he finds out whether he was successful at choosing his way into Heaven very soon.
Just kidding! I know that only God does the choosing and the regeneration of the heart and the washing clean of all transgressions, including any “dirty/stained” feelings that Satan puts in our minds to cause doubt.
