Ok so he was shot down, captured and he sang. And he was out of the war for five years. So he is a “war hero” exactly how ?
So? John Kerry was in Vietnam too! And he was awarded 3 Purple Hearts (although it is strange that he has three decorations for being wounded in battle but I have yet to see a scar from any of the injuries. Perhaps they were strange types of injuries that made his face elongated to the point it looks like a horses head.
Go look at the images of the various POWs who spent a minimum of three years in this status, and then look at the body-scale image of McCain walking off the plane. They fed him and ensured his comforts.
He’s only a war hero when the media, the Left, the Dem’s need him to be, to support their agenda. Other than that, he’s a disgusting war monger, Republican.
“Ok so he was shot down, captured and he sang. And he was out of the war for five years. So he is a war hero exactly how ?”
I agree, we use the word “hero” too freely. It diminishes REAL heroes.
The best and most honest appraisal of McCain’s vietnam experience is that he endured a lot of suffering, but that doesn’t rise up to a hero status. I’m sure every other prisoner went through the same ordeal.
“So he is a war hero exactly how?”
Not a hero, but a survivor. He was tough to survive capture, but not heroic. There are many war survivors.
