Was Page willing to sacrifice his reputation and future economic welfare to be branded as a spy/agent for the Russians? His life has been ruined and he has become something of a laughingstock. He was a useful idiot to establish the pretext for monitoring the Trump campaign and transition teams along with a sitting President.

None of this was ever going to come out. Hillary was going to win and Trump would be painted as a traitor. And if anything about Page's role did come out, he'd be the hero who brought down Trump.
