When in conflict, one of the most grievous mistakes one can make is to dismiss or underestimate your opponent.
Trump may be a lot of things, but there are two things he is not: He is not stupid, and he isn't a wuss.
The left, as is their wont to do, can only make conservatives Stupid, Evil, or Evil and Stupid. There is no other characterization. Unfortunately for Leftitsts, he is not only pretty sharp with lots of experience in arenas where he's is playing with his own money, he is also aggressive.
Sure, he is more inexperienced in the ways of pure governmental politics, but...he is a fast learner. When he said, after he signed the last budget "I'm not going to do it again" I believe him.
Can't say THAT about a lot of politicians, that is for sure.
The Leftards aren’t used to dealing with a Republican with ba**s.
I used to discuss/argue in a lot of the "natural born citizen" threads, and when I heard that Trump was questioning Obama's eligibility and expressing support for us "birthers", I said at the time, "This guy is gonna run for President."
I thought at the time that it was brilliant. He was picking up some of the hardest core of conservative voters who had been marginalized by their own party, and hated by virtually everyone, and he was going to gain their loyalty merely by expressing some support for their concerns.
I saw it working, and he slowly picked off constituency by constituency until he had the most Conservative support.
Yes, Trump is a bloody genius, and getting people to underestimate him is part of his shtick.
