I am not yet THAT pessimistic, I believe the greatest threats to this country are two-fold: our national debt, and Leftism.

But I do believe that a China intent on expanding its global footprint both in real estate and influence is a real issue. They have a lot of money and a now huge industrial base coupled with a national inferiority complex. Combine that with a political decision-making entity in Communist China that is not well understood by other countries around the world, and there does exist quite a toxic stew where a misunderstanding can have outsized negative consequences.

With “real estate,” I was referring to Taiwan, South Korea, Japan and other countries that China says that it is owed by way of racial and genealogical similarities (internally and only to relatively intelligent working class foreigners, e.g., older students with labor backgrounds). The perception is that eastern Asian people (racially) collectively own those countries. That knowledge can also be gathered by the attentive at times in Chinese media productions (e.g., movies about folk history). There are also the actions in taking control of key parts of ocean routes.

In regards to Russia, it’s the obvious real estate of former Soviet satellite countries and the unfinished business of the remainder of Europe. Russia’s greatness is measured by its accomplishments of the past (real estate, people, resources). That knowledge has appeared in bits of public news over the past couple of decades (interviews of common people around parade time, implications in media, etc.).

Real estate was a phrase sometimes used in an informal military sense during the Cold War.
