Yes. There's been a large flow of them coming into the country for over a 100 years. Large numbers of them have also been trying to get into northern parts of Europe. Their language is spoken in southern Switzerland. Large community of them in Crimea, too.
Many of them see blond-haired, blue-eyed people as the most highly prized foreign potential mates (also going on for many generations). Lived in an Italian community for a few years ("Italian," because the culture tends to want to stay the same in some ways...very Italian-nationalistic, even here, in the States).
Interesting experience after a few years and getting to know them more intimately. By the way, quite a few Lebanese also tend to move into those communities and culturally identify with Italians more easily.
