Hmmm. Any video of warehouses being robbed of firearms with no background check? Or drug dealer to drug dealer? Or ms-13 thug to ms-13 thug? Nah, just focus on law abiding folks. It’s less work.

If Helmer purchased the same gun he used in the military then in the military he was using a non -government issued civilian gun! The military uses selective fire automatic weapons Civilian rifles are non-selective fire.
Mr Helmer seems to be a liar.

It's called a face-to-face sale, and it is legal in approximately 35 states. The remaining 15 still require a background check or firearm owner ID card for private sales.
If the seller were a Federally Licensed dealer, he would have to perform a background check in all 50 states.
Get a life.

If he is as dishonest and disingenuous as a Congressman as he is in this statement, then he is the perfect example of a Democrat.

I don’t think our case was that these sales don’t happen, it’s that the guns in these sales are almost NEVER used for crimes, particularly mass murders, and thus blocking these sales/transfers will not affect crime, but will make it that much tougher to own/sell/buy guns, which will have the effect of less and less people doing just that.
And THAT is what the Left needs - less gun owners, and when gun owners are few enough, the Left will simply FINISH THE JOB and make private ownership Illegal...and the votes on our side will NOT be there to stop them, or even slow them down.

the dem candidate then went on to say he was on psychotropic drugs and having homicidal thoughts and felt really depressed that cops were oppressing him, and the guy at the gunshow, still sold him a weapon of war.

In Texas if you are a licensed concealed carrier you can legally buy any weapon at a gun show and walk out the door with it!!!

...and to add a bit more. The gun shows that I’ve been to ALWAYS have cops there...watching everyone, which is why bad guys prefer not to be there. Much easier to buy on the street, with no one watching, which is what they do.

There's no loop-hole, no background check requirements to buy a long gun or shotgun at a gun show or anywhere else in most states, is there? What is this blather all about?

...so this guy thinks the gun he purchased is similar to what he carried in the military? Seriously? He'd be happy with it were he to go back?
And so he'd like more background checks. So, how will that make anyone safer when (1) the government doesn't prosecute people that lie when they buy and (2) none of the recent murderers would have been prevented from buying by a background check.
