Now that I think about it, my first mechanic got a pilots license, and flew to Columbia back in the 70s—ostensibly for cocaine purchases. His last trip, with his 13-year-old son, was their last trip anywhere.

So this person flying big dollar loads of cocaine from Columbia back to the states told you all about it?

Investigated by his business partner—who was also my college roommate—sabotage to his aircraft was suspected. "Competition" being what it was in that endeavor.

Left Columbia, but never seen again.
