As much as we revere our right to own firearms, we need to recognize that there are some people who are simply not fit to do so. And in the case of the mentally ill, yes, it needs to be a crime to give them guns when told not to.

Got to also remember too that the father was TOLD not to give back the guns to his son after the incident in the area of the White House just last year.

The problem comes when a family member gives someone a gun to someone when they should not have a gun and there was NOT a prior incident.

If he’s too mentally ill to own a gun, then he’s too mentally ill to walk the streets.

Even without a gun, he could have killed even more people by ramming the place with a rented truck, or by tossing in a 5-gallon bucket filled with gasoline, followed by a road flare.
