California cities are rebelling against state sanctuary law, but how far can they go?
San Jose Mercury ^ | April 23, 2018 | Tatiana Sanchez

What started late last month with a city council vote in the Southern California suburb of Los Alamitos has grown into a wave of dissent across Orange County that is sparking a new kind of resistance in the Trump era: Californians in revolt against their own state — not the Trump administration.

At least 14 Southern California cities and two counties have passed ordinances, and in some cases filed lawsuits, against the state’s controversial sanctuary laws that largely prohibit local and state authorities from cooperating with federal immigration officers.

SB 54’s author Sen. Kevin de León on Friday said he’s sad to see mayors and council members “promoting these wasteful taxpayer proposals that only seek to divide our community.”

“These proposals won’t make our communities any safer, bring back jobs or grow our economy,” he said. “They are a symbolic waste of time and clearly a waste of taxpayer dollars.”

So when has a liberal Democrat ever been concerned about wasting taxpayer's dollars? How about the California taxpayer dollars wasted on illegal immigrants receiving taxpayer funded housing, medical care, education, food subsidies, and when they access our criminal justice system?

It is only a matter of time before Brown declares himself “Governor for Life” and De Leon raises a Brownshirt force to put down this “rebellion”.

Lock and Load, Californians...while you still can!

Nobody seems to focus on the Irony. Some counties and cities are advocating positions and ignoring laws much like California is doing vs the U.S government.

When Arizona passes a law that its state police enforce federal law, that is illegal. But when California passes a law that its state police refuse to enforce federal law, that is legal. We live in a bizarre world.

"Cities cannot choose which laws they wish to follow and exempt themselves from the laws they disagree with, [SB 54’s author] de León added."

But CA can choose which Federal laws they wish to follow and exempt themselves from the laws they disagree with?

As Q would say, these people are really stupid.

Stop calling de Leon a “liberal” democrat.

He is neither.

He is a Mexican Separatist, a colonizer, an anti-American, and not even a citizen of the United States.

His views have nothing to do with any sort of classical liberalism which has to do with systems of governance.

And he certainly doesn’t believe in democracy because he has worked rabidly to overturn every democratically passed law or initiative in our state or county that the Mexican nation disagrees with.

He is quite simply a foreign agent, loyal to another country, another nation, another people. He believes in their system of government, their territorial demands, their plans for the future, and not ours.

PERIOD.

The guy is NOT an American and does NOT belong either in our legislature OR our government!!

Well if they simply enforced the immigration laws, they would recover the 2/3 of the entire years taxes spent on Illegal Migrants.

That is 27,000,000,000 bucks. With a B.

Pocket change for leftists...

but how far can they go?

Good Question, Each City could enter into an Agreement with ICE and have ALL their Personnel Deputized and sworn in as Contracted Immigration Officers.

This far:
Expel the lawless, anti-American counties from the State of California.

Return them to territory status, their denizens no longer US citizens, no longer eligible to vote, and no longer eligible for travel into the USA without a visa, close scrutiny of their activities, and a limit on the time they can stay.

You can openly blame the Los Angeles City Council & the L A County Supervisors. They are all supporting the illegals. With the heavy voting done all these years by the illegals, the same stripe of people keep getting voted in.

“Cities cannot choose which laws they wish to follow and exempt themselves from the laws they disagree with”, de Leon added.

How ironic. Same applies to states.

I left So Calif 25 years go because I no longer felt safe.

Could no longer go shopping after dark. Only went out to eat close to house & went there in daylight & asked bouncer to walk me to my car & watch me drive out of parking lot. Otherwise-—only ate out for lunches.

Got SWARMED by packs of illegals more than once at a stoplight, as they were begging for day work for cash.

Got tired of finding large SHELTERS in middle of Home Depot parking lots ‘for the illegals’ & I refused to ever shop at Home Depot again.

Had intruders ON MY ROOF at 10:30 PM. . Had prowler next to bedroom window at 11 PM. Dog alerted me, and I racked the shotgun===RAPID footsteps retreating.

Gas stolen from my cars. House broken into.

Bussed students from ‘poor’ parts of town did NOT go to school-—They had free transportation to come into our neighborhoods to rob our houses while we worked.

Local Northridge Trauma unit was overwhelmed by gunshot & knife wounds. Trauma unit was finally closed due to inability to collect money from illegals who were always at war. It was called the best Trauma unit in So Calif.

ENOUGH was ENOUGH. I called Bekins & left. WON’T GO BACK.
