For reasons that I know not, I watched the entire funeral of Barbara Bush.

First, allow me to assert that it was because nothing much was going on and I put up feet and it was on TV, so I watched.

I have some thoughts on it if y’all will forgive me for any intrustion.

-George HW’s socks, with a picture of a library shelf on them, was....well I guess cute but it brings to mind...

—I know Barbara Bush was into literacy but seriously, how many people in America were, or are, unable to read? My friend, Diane Feinstein, tells me that plenty in those so-called s****le countries cannot read. I don’t recall Barbara Bush visiting Nigeria or some such. Seems to me like a good cause but with little to do to get the kudos.

-Dubya’s twins are the least look alike twins on this planet. Jenna looks like her mother, Barb looks like Dad. They do seem like nice kids.

-I didn’t especially like Barbara Bush mostly because she was very snarky about Sarah Palin. She was snarky about a lot of things but come on, Palin was her party’s nominee!

-I don’t think George HW will be on this planet very long, as these things sadly, often go.

-Jeb gave a eulogy but Dubya didn’t. I think that’s odd.

Anyway, may Barbara have a good afterlife. She seemed to be a good person and will go to heaven.

Just some thoughts.

Did you see this:
http://www.times-news.com/news/barbara-bush-greets-daughter-in-heaven-in-popular-newspaper-cartoon/article_c5e78d5a-43fb-11e8-8511-9362fd21be68.html

Little Robin (who died at age 3 from leukemia) greeting her mom as she joins her in Heaven. Evidently, the Bush family loved the cartoon. I suspect that when GHWB saw this, he had thoughts of joining his wife and daughter and it wouldn’t surprise me if his focus has turned from this world to the next. I don’t think he’ll be here that long, either.

"Jeb gave a eulogy but Dubya didn’t. I think that’s odd."

They (the family) always thought Jeb would be the successor to the throne as he got into politics sooner than W. W was a fun guy, a partier, into major league baseball, not politics. Jeb was the smart one. W was the regular guy. (which speaks volumes)

It fits with her snarky comment about W growing up the way he did because Barbara drank and smoke while pregnant. Too much DC beltway and Kennebunkport for the 1st lady.

There is a powerful lesson to be learned from the Barbara Bush passing. The overwhelming number of American citizens of all political stripes could have cared less about the Barbara Bush passing. Only about a meager number, 6,000 Americans attended the casket showing, that was open to the general public, and, yesterday there were very few rank & file Americans following or watching the funeral motorcade as it drove by.

Methinks the vast American population is just simply sick to its stomach having to deal with the elitist, hateful, envious, evil establishments of the Republican & Democrat parties.

I can assure you, that the rest of the Bushes, the Clintons and the Obamas will be treated in the same manner as FLOTUS, Barbara Bush was, with a very high absence of common sense, everyday, rank and file American citizens pay their repects upon their passing. After the great Ronald Reagan terms as POTUS, the country seems to have lost its way, choosing weak, ultra political, failed leadership via Bush, Clinton & Obama. Sad...maybe DJT will shake the American tree enough to wake it in order to face reality. Leadership has been replaced by hatred, envy, ego and political destruction. SAD!!! Methinks Ms Bush died with evil burning in heart for DJT, it showed with her having her son the hater, Jeb Bush give her death eulogy. Sad day for the Bushes, Sad days for the American Republic!!!

I can agree with your sentiment, however, Babs opened her mouth to criticize Pres. Trump, even after he won. She should have remained silence, it is NEVER justified for a former first lady to start smearing any President.

And, her love of Slick Willy, calling him her adopted son, makes me wanna gag.

But RIP, I suppose.

For the Bush family—go away, back to obscurity. We don’t need any dynasties!

I heard on Fox, I believe it was, that Barbara was working on her funeral, tweaking it, up until the last days of her life. I think she said to W “you got to be president, let Jeb give the eulogy.” I imagine her fantasizing that Jeb would have this chance to be in the spotlight and that the country would say “we should have gone with Jeb.” Uh no. I never really cared much for Barbara because of her stance on abortion and attacks on Sarah Palin. It’s obvious that the family didn’t necessarily care about the state of the country. Establishment to the core. However, I do hope Barbara has reunited with her daughter, Robin.
