You didn’t beat me. My parents are also legal immigrants as well as my in-laws. My kids are first generation Americans. My wife and family actually moved back to the old country for a few years and then immigrated back to the U.S.

A kid on Art Linkletter’s “House Party” program told him that he was one of four children, but their family would never have a fifth child, because every fifth child in the world was Chinese, and they didn’t want one.
>>Legal or illegal?
Funny how they never bother to mention that little detail.<<
Exactly. Guess they’re not going to tell us what percentage of children have one parent or both parents who are ILLEGAL immigrants.
Ireland and Canada
Words mean things. It is not the same thing to wait for 5 years in Togo for a visa and then legally bring your family, or to steal your way across the border. WE NEED TO CALL THEM ON THIS EVERY TIME THEY CALL ILLEGALS IMMIGRANTS.
Among the few mail-order brides I’ve known, there are few children (usually none of just one - as added protection against deportation/removal and a means to keep the money rolling in from the American husband if the relationship goes south). On the other hand, I know plenty of people here legally (came as children decades ago) who are married with multiple children - and they’d fit this description.
Could you imagine the fawning of the media if there was a Democrat president in the White House with an immigrant wife? Won’t happen with Melania, because she’s married to a Republican and is too much prettier than the “second Jackie O”, Barak Obama’s husband Michael.
