BUTLER, Pa. — A Western Pennsylvania sheriff has banned his department from conducting county sheriff business with any of the corporations that have cut ties with members of the National Rifle Association.

Mike Slupe, the chief law enforcement officer in Butler County, released the order April 3, but it hasn't been reported until now.

"Though I cannot dictate which companies you utilize in your personal life, I can and am going to dictate which companies the Butler County Sheriff’s Office will not use," Slupe wrote. He said the companies won't be used "when making arrangements for any extradition or stay over that you are scheduling."

The companies are Delta and United for airlines; hotels are any from the Wyndham Group; and vehicle rental companies Enterprise Holdings, Avis and Hertz.

"These companies made the choice to boycott the NRA for whatever their reason(s) are, so, I am making the choice not to support them," Slupe wrote. "I believe it is important to send a message as a department that we support the members of our community that are members of the NRA

Bit of
Sheriffs WIN history....

Sheriff Slupe was first elected into office in 2009. The ‘first Republican ‘to hold the seat in nearly three decades, Slupe won the first election by 69% of the vote over his Democratic opponent.
He won again in 2013 and last November, both times receiving over 98 percent of the vote.

There's something in the law that gives sheriffs a lot more power to fight unconstitutional mandates than they now use.

Anyway, this is the kind of guy you want as sheriff.

Exciting to watch when the little fish in the big pond start taking stands.... Generally doesn’t get the press on a large scale but you can never tell what a little ripple can do!

Truly heart lifting when smaller city folk step up to the plate and send ripples across the pond.......God uses the willing then He takes it where he wants to go with it! Just takes a step up!

I like very much when the Sheriff said........ “We all make choices. Their decision was to cut their ties with the NRA for one reason or another. And I’m not bad-mouthing them. They made a choice. So I’m gonna make a choice.... And we’re not gonna use these companies to do our work,” he said.

Yes, like what’s taking place here in California with respect to the “Sanctuary State Law.” I had dinner with a retired senior Sheriff’s Officer last week here in Northern CA. I commented about the actions that some of the state’s sheriffs are taking. He told me that virtually none of the “real sheriffs” here in CA (that leaves out the fag in San Francisco, and the $hitball in Los Angeles) are going to observe this law, despite what Xavier “the illegal alien” Beccera who is our illegal AG, says he’s going to do about it.

Not so unusual in Pennsylvania.

To get elected even as a Democrat, a candidate must be Pro Gun, Pro Life and Pro Union. There are exceptions such as the wackos from the Philadelphia area.

However, the Pennsylvania Democrat is often more pro gun than most Republicans elsewhere.

In the book Executive Orders, Tom Clancy described the Pennsylvania Democratic Party as one of the most complex political Organisms in the US. He was right. There’s no other explanation of the late Bob Casey Sr. He was a Democrat who was socially conservative, but unfortunately a fiscal Marxist who drove business away from Pennsylvania.

Unfortunately, the Republicans in Pennsylvania are of the GOPe variety for the most part, and unlike their constituents, would not support the President if they had to take a stand.

The Butler County Sheriff is a Republican BTW. i’m from Butler originally.

I think Trumps huge support for officers and the military has cut loose the strong men we know them to be. Bo had no regard at all...did a lot of damage by preventing them from doing their work. They know otherwise now.

Probably.....they always do. BO and Holder planted them everywhere.

Dems just continue to divide and split the country using every tactic in their book .....and then some..... They’ve made it impossible seeing them as Americans now, rather entirely opposing the people and the country itself. Stunning hatred they’re putting on display.

I was born in Butler 80 years ago. In my teens I was a junior NRA member and was on a small Bore team sponsored by Pullman Standard. A lot of good riflemen came out of western PA. Looks like not much has changed.

Yep, and even the not so pro-gun Democrats in PA are careful with gun regulations. There are about a million hunting licenses sold in the state every year, and it has a $1.6 billion effect on the economy.

The lines are being drawn. I am of the opinion that a civil war is no longer avoidable.

If you are over weight, and/or out of shape, get healthy and exercise.

Learn first aid and put aside medication, bandages, creams, ointment and sterilization supplies

Learn how to sterilize water, butcher animals, grow food and cook.

Learn gun safety, how to shoot and infantry squad tactics.

Learn how to fortify your home and how to bug out to your alternate location.

Learn other skills that can be bartered or traded, small engine repair, reloading, knitting, electronics repair, etc.

It is coming my friend, and when it hits, you will be dying. The trick to successful survival is pushing off the dying one more day.

Time to tell Wells Fargo to tell the Marxist-led American Federation of Teachers (Randi Weingarten) to go to hell. I am.

As I recall my history, the Wells Fargo Pony Express only lost 2 riders during the whole time of their existence (Until the telegraph put them out of business).

Time to toughen WF up and tell the AFT to go to hell.

Been that way for a long time. Further back than either one of us go.

During the American Revolution the Pennsylvania rifleman was a prized asset to the Colonial army.

During the battle of Gettysburg, 34,000+ members of the Army of the Potomac were Pennsylvanians, including 14 Union Generals at the battle. That was over 1/3 of Meade's (also a Pennsylvanian) army.

Butler County Sherriff’s Department gave me my first CCW permit back in 1995.

Allegheny County Sherriff kept throwing my application in the trash!
