Thanks for the proper perspective. Terrible for the person who was killed and the family, but also important to know that flying is many degrees safer than getting in your car and making a trip to the store.

I don’t buy that whole farce of safety.

Of course air wins in miles. But I’d be willing to bet they do not win in terms of hours or just plain number of trips. How many trips do you make by car yet never have even a fender bender? That counts much more than miles traveled.
