The media’s description of Hannity as a “client” of Cohen’s is at odds with Hannity’s description of any relationship. A “client” of a lawyer PAYS for that lawyer’s services. Hannity says he spoke with Cohen about legal questions regarding real estate transactions, BUT HE NEVER PAID for any services.
I know attorneys personally and have, on occasion, asked them legal questions just to feel out some basics that might help me determine if I should actually hire an attorney. I would never have considered these conversations to have made me their “client”.
I wish Dershowitz had explained why Hannity should have divulged his non-client conversations with Cohen.
If someone knows the explanation, please post it.
I couldn’t care less about this. I doubt most of Sean’s listeners/viewers care about this. Of course, I know longer trust Fox News and they may very well use this as an excuse to send him to Coventry.
Dershowitz is right from an ethics perspective. However if Hannity’s side of the story is true, what’s to disclose? Shawn probably asks similar friendly legal questions to many lawyers.
Years ago my brother in law was called to a lawyers house to fix the kitchen sink. While under the sink replacing the trap he talks to the lawyer who is sitting in the kitchen. My brother in law completes the job, leaves, and sends the lawyer a bill. The lawyer returns the bill with a bill from him for “legal advice”. Go figure.
I expected nothing less.
If I was Hannity I would have said right back to him: “You should disclose the details of your relationship with Epstein and your trips to Pedo Island right now!!”

Why did Cohen’s lawyers say Sean was a client if they have no monetary relationship? I don’t understand that one.

I don’t have one. Most of the whole country does NOT have one-—but perhaps being inundated with paper avalanche stating such would get their attention.
Mueller & the Deep State are willing to break ANY law to get rid of Trump. What they don’t get is that IF they get truly close to doing that, they will unleash about 66 million or more of US onto them, and they cannot control all of us. They will start CW II. I have confidence on who will survive CW II.
The 4th Amendment is just as important as #1 & #2. It means you can keep your privacy-—which is exactly what these raids on Cohen’s records destroyed. PRIVACY.
IF I go to a lawyer-—I expect to have that privacy privilege. Same for my CPA.
This raid & how it is being handled isn’t entirely about ‘getting Trump’. It is about tearing away the shield of PRIVACY from every single person in the USA. But, of course, the Dems don’t think this will apply to THEM.
