Donald Trump ran as a peace candidate and that is one of the main reasons I voted for him. In his major foreign policy speech in April 2016 he said "unlike other candidates for the presidency, war and aggression will not be my first instinct." It would seem that launching this Syrian attack just before the investigation of the chemical attack was to occur violates that promise.
In the same speech Trump repeatedly stated that every aspect of his foreign policy would be based on the principle of America First. How does this attack conform to that principle regardless of who used the chemical weapons?
