When it is a billionaire client, why does a lawyer need more than one client?

Does a lawyer working for GM lose his license because all his work is for GM?

For that matter, does a lawyer working for DOJ lose his license because all his work is for the Fed?

Exactly. Lots of lawyers work for govt, corporations, other single entities. Are they “barely even a lawyer” if they don’t have a roster of private clients?

His retainer must be spectacular if he is doing little or no legal work yet surviving the high rent environment in which he is located.
