April 13 (UPI) -- A venture capitalist billionaire said he received enough signatures to get a measure on California's November ballot that asks voters if they want to split California into three states.
Tim Draper, the chairman of Cal 3, the organization pushing the measure, said they've obtained more than 600,000 signatures -- nearly twice the number needed to get on a state ballot -- and will present them to the California Secretary of State for verification.

They will enact every uber-liberal program they can imagine.
When illegals are given the right to vote or citizenship will they vote to become part of Mexico?
Will there be a fight between Mexican Americans who want to remain on the US gravy train or will the majority vote to become Aztaland?
Many possibilities. Many possible outcomes.
It will be a fascinating case study and will serve as a real-life, real-time example of liberalism at work.
Approving a referendum to divide up the state has nothing to do with whether or not California is in rebellion. It is one of the constitutional steps necessary for such a division to occur, and therefore is wholly constitutional.
The state's reaction when congress refuses to grant its consent might determine whether or not the state is in a state of rebellion, though.
If the constitutional process for dividing an existing state is followed then the new states will by definition be part of the union. There will be no need to apply.
San Diego isnt Conservative anymore........
They need to lump That coastal strip starting just north of Orange County stretching to just north of Oakland into one. The rest including San Diego and the rest of the state can be a new state......call it Jeffersonia.
Keywords Caleavefornia, Calexit, Yes California, sorted, de-dup'ed. Oh, and I moved the Russia topics to the top of this list. Thanks vannrox.
>>Extra senators will most likely be Republican.
Republican is not the opposite of Progressive these daysin fact, it never was, but we couldnt see it becuase the Progs hid well. The person with the big money backing will win and the Progressive wing of the GOP has lots of money.
Not so much SF. Theyre geographically limited and will never have more than 800-900K population. Its the rest of the Bay Area. Its been a while since I looked, but last time I did it was about 9M in population, rock solid rat territory. The conservative hinterland would be every bit as drowned out as they are today
It would wind up being another Massachusetts...and about the same size, maybe.
Boston and environs within the Rt. 128 belt...very Liberal. Outside of there, a large number of Conservative towns and communities. But not large enough to overcome the stink within Rt. 128.
That wouldn't happen. San Francisco would never consent to being separated from its suburbs and thrown in with Los Angeles.
But even if it did, Sacramento and the liberal coastal counties would probably give Northern California to the Democrats. There just aren't that many people in inland Northern California.
In a good year, Republicans might be able to elect a governor or senator in the Southern California state, but the other two would be solid Democrat.
They blew that one off to make West Virginia in 1863.
As a California resident I plan to vote no on this garbage.
Like we would accept 6 nutcase senators instead of 2.
Absolutely correct... using the proposed county groupings for NorCal, Cal, and SoCal in the initiative, and using the 2016 Presidential election results as a proxy of how each state would vote for a Senator, we would end up with 6 Kamala Harris type Progressives in the Senate. And while some are hoping that this measure might strip off some Electoral votes for the GOP candidate, that won't happen either - in fact the Dems would end up with 4 more EVs.
2016 Presidential Election results by proposed "3Cal Split":
Nor Cal: Clinton 3,402,343 - Trump 1,464,637
Cal: Clinton 2,934,624 - Trump 1,057,331
So Cal: Clinton 2,413,666 - Trump 1,957,594
It's a definite NO vote from me.
Progressives will never let their slaves go. Never.
“WAIT! What about Rhode Island?”
What about it? If you divided it, you’d end up with a couple of three-car garages.
“(the county S.F. is in)”
SF isn’t in a county, it is a county! San Francisco is a city and a county within the same border. It is called legally The City and County of San Francisco.
Each with two senators!
California is like a rich mans out house 3 sh*tholes are better than one.
