Russian warnings with similar wording were issued at least five times over the last three weeks, even before the hoax in Ghouta. Earlier versions cited credible information about US/AQ/ISIS plans to stage a provocation involving chemical weapons.

Information about May's position is from UK paper (Times, DailyMail) as of early morning.

Don't be too surprised if May changes her mind -- she is under serious pressure and she may go ahead even knowing that this will likely end her career.

It is well possible that so is Trump. Going ahead with the attack is not helpful to him, regardless of what happens. Russia will likely respond, US casualties will result, and if Trump does not escalate to WWIII, he is toast. Together with the MAGA idea, globalists retain full control.

I feel a little sorry for him... and much sorrier for the US.

I doubt that there is a single person with a pre-2000 signup date that is easily influenced or manipulated

I beg to differ. Proof? Three beautiful Asian Ex's.

“The Russians ain’t going to respond militarily. Does anyone remember the Cuban Missile Crisis?”

Starting wars in the belief that the other side wouldn’t dare fight back is a fool’s thought process. Every street cop can tell you that no matter how weak the other side is, everyone can be provoked eventually, even if it results in their own demise.
Our string of insults and humiliations will eventually go too far and the hit back could be very bad.

And the hit back could come in the form of one local commander giving an order to fire.

Remember in the Cuban missile crisis, ONE Soviet sub commander was ready to fire a nuclear tipped torpedo. It took a vote of three. The political officer voted no.
We assume MOSCOW won’t hit back, but some Russian being bombed might think it makes sense to fire back. Grunts can be touchy.

The weapons are indiscriminate, of course, so should only be used in scenarios that allow that sort of indiscriminate destruction -

So gas is bad, nuclear annihilation is good???

And ultimately Khrushchev was removed in part because the rest of the Politburo thought he was too weak during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Considering the Russians can't even force a decision in Ukraine where they have a land border, Russia is no longer capable of WWIII.

A third world country with first world nukes. And although the Russian temperament is best described by the word "insanity," I don't think the powers-that-be want to do anything that would so seriously upset their cozy little apple-carts. And what about the Chinese? They don't exactly get much in the way of trade from the Russians.

Starting wars in the belief that the other side wouldn’t dare fight back is a fool’s thought process.

ALL wars start because of misjudging the opponent.... at the very least the losing side in any war obviously did, but more often both sides make this mistake, victories often come at very high prices.

In God I trust ... all others pay cash.

How are they going to bomb missile sights if they’re coming from submarines?

Israel and the US Navy both know any time an aircraft takes off or lands in Syria.....(AWACS) we both have the weapon system. So its just a question of do we know exactly where the weapon was dropped? Of course we do. Thats exactly target #1.......Target #2 is all Syrian air bases drop 1 MOAB on every runway end of Syrian af and Russian air forces in Syria....

Actually, there is a high probability that Russia does nothing.

If they do, they will be outmatched and punished severely.
