I, on the other hand, think a modicum of involvement to keep the Iranians out and the Russian's bogged down at minimal cost to ourselves is a strategic asset.
And Trump is the one who drew another line at chemical attacks: my guess is that the Syrians and/or Iranians did this on their own without Russian involvement because it's not in Russia's interests to provoke us again. Or, they planned this as a response to our massacre of Russian mercs a few weeks ago, in which case they think they can prevail or at least give us a bloody nose.
Hard to tell.
And “we will shut down the government if we have to but WE WILL BUILD THAT WALL”
I have been a faithful supporter of trump. I like to believe he is a man of his word. I was deeply shaken when he signed the Omnibus spending bill that gutted the wall. But if we attack Russia/Syria with no evidence that this was them,( when it is obviously the jihadis), we are looking at a political suicide and the needless death of thousands of our troops. I will go to the streets.
