One big difference between 1974 and 2018: Trump has a very loyal support base. Nixon did not. Conservatives were long disappointed by Nixon's governance as a moderate liberal, including his recognition of Red China, environmental activism, and continuation of Great Society programs. The impeachment charges by the House did not include Nixon's termination of Eliot Richardson, et. al., but did include his misuse of the IRS against political enemies, obstruction of justice in covering up the Watergate burglary, and his stonewalling of Congressional inquiries. Remember that in the impeachment proceedings against Nixon and Clinton, the House was controlled by the opposite party. That is not the case at the present time.

If enough conservatives stay home for this mid-term election because their candidate is not conservative enough for them, there aren't enough "independents" or "blue dog" dems to vote in enough (R)'s to control Congress.

• Loose the House, Trumps is impeached...San Fran Nan will make sure of that, 100%. Even less MAGA will get past the House.

• Loose the Senate, and all those critical judicial nominee's go nowhere, even if we retain the house. Even less MAGA will get past the Senate.

• Loose both, Trump and his MAGA actions are all but gone, more courts rule against him, more demographic changes walk across the border and on and on.

This is why this mueller "investigation" has zero limits. The swamp see's the Trump/MAGA presidency as a mere 2 year temporary bump in the road.

These mid-terms could be even bigger than the 2016 presidential election.
