This whole clean up the environment in our cities is mostly a fraud.

In the small city of Athens, GA, the city spent $8 million to purchase 10 hybrid buses.

Now imagine the markup cost of going hybrid. I read that a diesel powered bus is $300,000 to buy new.

And theses buses are traveling mostly through suburban streets and from what I can see the number of passengers is very light.

Wondering where I should go in the city government to get statistics on how many passengers use the system each year.

Government accountability starts at the local level, but I suspect that’s where the corruption is the worst. Am I right?

They are working on the new transit line the heads towards our eastside suburb from Seattle. I have no doubts that it will only expand the gangs’ territory as it has down in Portland.

Durkan is a lesbian. She and her partner, Dana Garvey, live in Seattle and have two sons.

“Mass Transit, Bringing Criminals to White Suburbs”

Our State Senator here in the SF East Bay wants to know if those of us who live in the San Ramon Valley want a BART extension. We’ve told her no, because BART is at capacity and any extensions to “alleviate commute time congestion” would not help. But during the mid-day, it would be a “commute vehicle” for criminals from East Oakland and Richmond (both areas of major “diversity”) to come to our communities while people are at work to “ply their trade!”

This is one of the biggest lies in the world right now to get control of the people over everything. It’s evil and it’s sickening.

"the city's persistent carbon problem"

How can they tell it isn't just in their heads?

Meanwhile, in Vancouver B.C., just north of Seattle, they dump their raw sewage into the ocean!

The sixties and seventies had a lot going on but the eighties was the beginning of the end. I moved out in the mid-eighties and avoid it like the plague today.

Seattle is rapidly setting itself up to be a sh#@hole,filled with consumers and users but with hardly any producers. I’m out of the area asap and I hope it rots in self inflicted social justice Hell.

West side: liberal wackos, East side: environmentalists liking to burn people out to get the property cheap.

Interesting. I've not heard that about the wacko environmentalists on the east side. Please clarify. Inquiring minds want to know.

Back when (2001 or so) they were working hard to burn out very small towns along the Canadian border.

American Rivers or The Nature Conservancy (or similar organizations) would then come along offering the burnout people about or less fair market for their property - if the property was large enough, they would then sell a portion for the price they bought the property to the government.

Next, they would then use some of that money to build to suit for one of their members wishing to live in the woods for way above fair market. It is a real estate scam masquerading as a do good environmental organization.

That scam was also used on the farmers in the Klamath Valley dust up of around that time. They used the EPA via the courts to declare sucker fish endangered and dried up the farmer’s water forcing them to sell.

Thanks for the info. Now, when you say "burn out" do you mean literally arson? I'd like to research this some more. Sounds intrigueing.

Yes, arson. Usually these small towns are located near a national forest, and in the summer there is little rain and every thing is tinder dry - does not take much for some ‘camper’ to leave a camp fire smoldering or just drop a lit match.

Nothing one can prove, just the locals seeing out of towners who have various lefty/environmental stickers on their vehicles and talk openly about the hateful locals laughing and giggling when the fires begin. Once might be just odd, but that scenario happens over and over again.

It is not intriguing to the people it happens to ... there has long been a land and water war going on in the West as part of the 1970 origin War on Natural Resource Harvesters. Farmers, commercial fishermen, miners, loggers are the targets.

I am well aware of the fires. I've hunted in the Methow Valley of WA state since the early 70's, and have seen my hunting grounds ravaged by wildfires several times. Those were all attributed for the most part to lightning strikes. I do know that the Methow Valley that used to be inhabited mostly by ranchers, loggers and miners is now filling up with old hippie types. Where we used to get a thumbs up and a wave from locals, more than often now we get scowls when we're in blaze orange.

We have the same problem in Asheville ,NC. Our “hybrid” busses run empty too, but somehow they still manage wear and tear and have to be replaced every few years.

one guess how those ‘old hippy’ types came to be there ... likely more than one played Mr. Lightening in earlier times.

Sure, and what I’ve heard of Asheville it’s probably like Athens. Liberals abound because of the University of Georgia is here.

So there’s the attitude that wasting money on hybrid buses is a “good thing”. I’ll bet that you could save money by the city hiring taxis for everyone who wants to go somewhere along the bus routes!

When I get some time I’m going to explore how many passengers they actually get.

Of course, no mention of the OBVIOUS reason for congestion pricing a city: to lower the vehicle count so that it's easier for emergency vehicles to get around. Nope. Just more of the carbon cult.

They’ll pocket the money and it’ll never be used for what they claim.

NYS was supposed to do away with tolls on the Thruway shortly after it was built.

They’ve only gone up and the fund was never set up.

Thanks again Tol,

People need to be REALLY CAREFUL before accepting mileage-based tolling because the ability of government to runs people’s lives expands dramatically with it.

Here are just a few things that come to mind in setting toll rates:
1) Specific road
2) Time when traveled (rush hour costs more)
3) Vehicle used (bigger vehicles pay more)
4) Income level (obviously the rich should pay more)

Lots more, but I’ve got to run now...
