If there are 40 students per classroom, then that’s a failure of the school district. No school district should be “surprised” by the number of students coming into their buildings. The numbers are tracked and estimated, even years in advance. If your school district intentionally allowed the numbers to grow like that, without planning for more buildings, temporary classrooms, hiring more staff, etc... then it’s time to go to a new district. Clearly, there is no lack in the demand for teachers with half a brain, if the numbers are already this high.
They are not really concerned with the class size because they can get money from federal grants. They really don’t want to give up all that money.
